Greene grace
From Miss Eliza Ascott SIR I was a little surprised to see that Beryl Bainbridge (Report, November 30) was drawn to Catholicism by reading Graham Greene. I had always thought that Greene was more of a turn-off for decent non-Catholics who might be interested in the faith. But it just goes to show that grace is a tremendously incomprehensible thing. I have planted a little tree in my garden to celebrate.
Yours faithfully, ELIZA ASCOTT By e-mail
