Louis Theroux – The City Addicted to Crystal Meth

BBC TWO, 9PM, SUNDAY AUGUST 9

The renowned documentary maker, who is best known for his sly, wry humour in the face of extreme American lunacy, takes on a more serious issue – the menace of crystal meth, a drug that has destroyed whole communities in the US. He visits one such town, Fresno in California’s Central Valley, where he meets local addicts and watches them smoke their way to an early grave. He even meets a couple who have stayed married despite sharing 25 years of addiction and losing their five children to social services. Ed West
