NO GUILD MEETING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

The Printers' Guild of St. John announce that there will be no further meetings until further notice. In the meantime the Master and Council have asked for special powers to conduct the business of the guild at their discretion.

A special message issued by the Master referring to the reservation of the trade states:

" Hence our most. urgent public and private duty is to continue, one and all, steadfastly in the normal round of daily work for so long as we are allowed to do so. We shall find the task easier if we bear in mind the conviction on which our guild is based; namely, that the printer can and should make his work acceptable to God as well as man."

The proposal to institute a benefit fund has been brought forward in view of the hardships likely to befall members owing to the war, and an appeal is issued to guildsmen to subscribe.
