The same business

From Mr Eugene Byrne SIR – I’m glad to welcome Fr Storey’s comments (April 22) on my letter (April 1) about married sex and religious celibacy. I’m sure he’s right to point out that we’re in the same business: it’s about love. It’s just that the contexts are different.

I also implied my criticism of the papacy’s failure through the centuries to persuade the rich to look after the poor, but now we have our Archbishop Nichols in the same issue, on the subject of the poor versus bankers’ bonuses. Let’s all get right behind him there.

Yours faithfully, EUGENE BYRNE By email
