Lobby for life

I am seeking a space in your columns to say a word to my fellowworkers in the battle against abortion. I refer to the mass lobby of MPs on May 17 at Westminster. It is essential for all those involved in this fight to write letters to Parliament before May 17. Letters should be sent to: (1) The Prime Minister; (2) Mr David Ennals, Secretary of State for Social Services, House of Commons; (3) Your own MP, also at the House of Cornmons.

Time after time, the Government has made promises to us on this abortion issue, Time after time, we have had to fight to make sure that those promises were kept. Mr Benyon's Bill is no different. Despite the fact that it was given a second reading, it has not yet gone into committee. If we do not act now the Bill will run out of time.

Therefore, I appeal to all pro-life people to attend the mass lobby and to write now asking why the Bill is not making progress. However, if you cannot attend the lobby it is still important for you to write to Parliament, See you at the House of Commons!

Hall Green, (Mrs) J. M. Holton
