What is the APF?

(Association for the Propagation of the Faith)

The Holy Father's and the Bishops' Society for the support of all the missions in their work of evangelisation.

Founded in 1 822 by a teenage girl, Pauline Jaricot, to help the missions with Prayer and money The Pope made it a Society of the Universal Church, helping all the missions, in 1922.

Now established in 90 countries, the majority of which are mission lands themselves.

A central fund, to which all countries concerned contribute, distributes the money twice a year, ensuring that all 850 mission dioceses of the world are helped impartially.

The A.P.F. is the whole Church, helping all the local Churches. Last year, thirty-one million pounds was distributed amongst all the missions of the world.
