1,600 Children Present Archbishop with Offerings for Poor

Two hundred school teachers and over one thousand six hundred children were present at the Pro-Cathedral, Liverpool, on Sunday afternoon last to present to Mgr. Downey, Archbishop of Liverpool, the annual Good Shepherd offerings on behalf of waifs and strays of the Archdiocese.

Pontifical Benediction was celebrated by His Grace, assisted by the Rev. F. Kieran, the Mass choir being conducted by the Rev. H. Newsom.

After presenting the Archbishop with the offerings the children were presented each with a holy picture and entertained to tea. Mgr. Downey congratulated the school children on the magnificence of their sustained effort.
