CONGRATULATIONS to Gravesham businessman Mr Cyril Frend Morris who has been awarded the papal decoration, The Cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice by his Holiness Pope John Paul II. The award has been made for community and parish services. Mr Morris, a widower, with two adult children, is known as a very kindly and sympathetic funeral undertaker.
Mr Morris was invested with the cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice by The Rt Rev John Jukes, BishOp of Strathearn on behalf of the Holy Father, after a special Mass at St John's Church on Tuesday November 26, 1985. The Mass celebrated the 125th anniversary of the arrival of the Sister of Mercy in Gravesend.
