CLERGY
LAST SUNDAY Ainsieolain opened its first hotel for clergy visiting the Netherlands. The initiative for founding the bold was taken by the Third Order of St. Francis and was prompted by the great need for accommodation suitable for travelling clergy. The 1,200 clergymen who visited the city in 1958 often experienced great difficulties in finding a proper hotel.
This new hotel is situated at 11 Waldeck Pyrmontlaan and provides accommodation for 47, in single and double rooms, all very well appointed with hot and cold water as well as a shower-bath in each room. (El for bed and breakfast.) Hotel San Luchesio — the name indicates the Franciscan founders behind the institute — welcomes not only Catholic clergy but also Protestant as well as Jewish clergymen. Special double rooms are therefore reserved for the married clergy.
In keeping with the ecumenical spirit that also has inspired this important initiative the building contains a large halt for discussions. The hotel has seven altars for the visiting clergy to say Mass.
An enormous number of requests for accommodation have already been received by the managing director, Fr. P. ' Korse, O.F.M.
