Papal honour for Ushaw theologian

Fr. Lawrence L. McReavy, J.C.D.. M.A.. Professor of Moral Theology and Canon Law at Ushaw College, Durham, has been appointed a Domestic Prelate to His Holiness the Pope,

Monsignor McReavy studied at Ushaw and was ordained there in 1929. After two years' teaching at Ushaw, he studied at Louvain, where he gained a doctorate in Canon Law. In 1934 he ieturned to Ushaw to teach Moral Theology and Canon Law. In 1960 he was appointed Consultor to one of the commissiens which have been set Lip by Pepe John XXIll to prepare for the Second Vatican Council.

Mgr. McReavy is a frequent contributor to "The Clergy Review " and many other Catholic periodicals. For a number of years he has dealt with the questions involving Moral Theology and Canon Law which are sent to the Review.
