Youth rally
The Catholic Association of Young Adults held an all-day rally last week at the Harrogate Conference Centre where more than 1300 young Catholics aged event.

The BBC helped Help the Aged mark its Silver Jubilee on Wednesday when it recorded a special Songs of Praise episode at St James Church in Clerkenwell London. The recording will be transmitted on BBC 1 on Sunday, December 14.
Aids figures
The Department of Health released figures on AIDS this week that show 599 cases of the AIDS virus recorded up until last month, with 296 of these victims already dead. Many hundreds more are believed to be suffering from an earlier "AIDS-related" stage of the disease — an estimated 30,000 people could be carrying the virus, most of them without knowing it.
Chaplaincy visit
Archbishop Michael Bowen of Southwark will be present at the official opening of the St Vincent's Centre in Whitstable, Kent, tomorrow. The Centre will be the Southwark Catholic Youth Chaplaincy, as a residential youth centre available to all parish and school groups in the disease.
Queen and vigil
The Christians' Unemployment -Grcrup,, which ineltrdes Catholics, as well as other denominations, will hold a vigil of prayer on unemployment in South Yorkshire, on December 12, the date scheduled for the Queen's visit to the area.
