I IN TURN was quite appalled by the comments of Mr Moyniharn on Fr I lanshell's articles regarding the rubrics of the Mass.
All that Father Henshell is doing is to Indicate a reverent and devotional way of using the existing simple rubrics given in the General Instruction to the Roman Missal. If at times this means using the old rubrics of the 'fridentine Mass all the better.
There is no necessary contradiction at all. Furthermore many people are upset by the informal and often rather slapdash approach of some priests to the few rubrics that are given.
For instance starting Mass with "Hello Everybody", and elevating the Host and Chalice with one hand instead of two.
I am pleased to say that VOX intends to publish these articles slightly expanded and matched to the numbers in the General Instruction, later on in the year. Rev Michael Clifton PP Chairman of VOX Group
