Europe looks in on Cockfosters

MILLIONS of viewers in Holland, Belgium, Italy. France and Ireland will be among the people of many European countries who will he able to watch the Easter Vigil service and Midnight Mass televised on Holy Saturday night from the Priory of Christ the King at Cock fosters on the edge of London's Green Belt.

Batteries of television cameras will show Europe—via the Eurovision network—the blessing of the new fire outside the large but temporary and somewhat cinema-style church; the procession into the darkened church, the gradual lighting up. the blessing of the baptismal water and other ceremonies.

Eurovision has arranged with the BBC to show this programme "live" in Ireland and on the mainland of Europe. Commentator will he Fr. Patrick McEnroc. Producers are Fr. John Stapletonand David Kennard. (11.30 p.m.)

The Priory of Christ the King at Cockfosters is the only foundation in this country of the Olivetan Benedictines whose mother house is at Dec in France which has connections with St. Anselm, Archbishop of Canterbury.
