CARDINAL TISSERANT VATICAN LIBRARIAN THE Pope has appointed the -1Dean

of the Sacred College of C.ardinals. Cardinal Tisserant, to be the Vatican's new Librarian and Archivist.

The post has been vacant since August 22, when the former Librarian, Cardinal Mereati, died at the age of 90.

Cardinal Tisserant, horn at Nancy, France, 73 years ago, already holds the posts of Secretary of the Holy Congregation for the Oriental Church and Prefect of the Sacred Ceremonial Congregation. as well as the Deanship of the College of Cardinals.
