BISHOP Francis Walmsley, the new Bishop to the Forces, presented the conference with a thorough report on the numbers • of Catholics in the Armed Services. For some 213,710 Catholics among servicemen and their families there are only 65 chaplains. which means that each priest serves about 3,000 people.
