LIBRARIES FOR CHILDREN. by Lionel MeColvin (Phoenix, 25s.).
THIS book concerns itself with all the ins and outs of setting up, arranging and running a children's library. Mr. McColvin, Westminster City Librarian, has made a special survey of the child's own library both at school and as an adjunct to the adult Public Library. The importance of intelligent and sympathetic library staff is stressed. While being mainly of interest to the professional librarian, the book is also a plea to parents, teachers and others to show children the help that they can obtain both for work and play from their local library.
