CONGREGAT1ONS of nuns and Sisters in the U.S.A. are planning to raise S10 million from corporations, foundations and individuals to finance fellowships for Sisters who will then study to become college teachers.
Sisters taking up the 2.000 fellowships (valued at 55,000 each) under the programme will earn doctoral degrees and will then become teachers of younger Sisters preparing for careers in Catholic schools.
The project is being carried out by the co-operative effort of American religious commenities of women handed together in the Sister Formation Conference set up in 1954.
