CANONIZATION CEREMONY NOT TO BE BROADCAST B.B.C.'s Statement

Great dieappoiniment is lett at the news that theme is very little likelihood of the B.B.C. broadcasting even a part of the cunonization ceremony on May 19. This is undoubtedly an event which has awakened the Interest of even non-Catholics in this country and thousands of Catholics who will be prevented from being present in St. Peter's for the papal Mass and the canonization had hoped that the B.B.C. would have provided them with an opportunity of following the. ceremony by which such great honour is being paid to two illustrious Englishmen.

We invited the B.B.C. to make a statement in regard to the matter and we were informed: " The 13.B.C. is commemorating Sir Thomas More in a programme Unit will be broadcast early in July. It will take the form of a reconstruction of his life and wore. The actual event of the canonization is not being relayed from the Vatican in this country, but it will he dealt with in the news bulletin and possibly iii a talk."
