"WE HAVE A HIGH PRIEST" Enthronement At Westminster

H411,111 .'-: PONT IFICI, Vf : " 1%, c have a isioli priest!" These are the traditional words in which the election of a new pope h announced to the City and the World; they arc tw lees appropriate to England aml Wales when a new archbishop is enthroned al Westminster.

On Monday last Mgr. Arthur 1-Uncle) entered solemnly into possessiou of his sec, the fifth archbishop of Westminster and the seventy-third senior metropolitan of alio Church in this realm (formerly primates, now praescs).

His Grace does not, indeed, occupy the material chair of those prelates who for close on a thousand years led the Church in England from the Cathedral Church of Christ at Canterbury, But he is the moral. organic and canonical successor, in communion with the Holy ,Ser, of the primates from 597 to 1558, of St. Augustine, of St. Thomas Becket, and of Pule.

Stich an enthronement is an historical T event of itepo.rtance, and no one who IIN as present will easily forget it: a cerenorty carried oat not with pone) and ircumstance and empty pageantry hut .,imply, plainly and straightforwardly, as is the way of the Roman Church-the thing to he done done in a certain way because that is the ivay to do it.

An account of the enthronement will be found on page nine, and a summary of the Archbishop's address on page two.
