Doctors of 41 nations condemn mercy killing

A resolution strongly condemning euthanasia-mercy killing "—was adopted by the World Medical Association at a meeting in New York.

The resolution said that euthanasia, if legalised, would " open the door to all possible crimes and criminal practices." It described euthanasia as "contrary to public interest and to medical principles as well as to natural and civil right," and recommended that national medical associations in each country should "condemn the practice of euthanasia under any circumstances." The World Medical Association is composed of national medical associations in 41 countries.
