still in the dark ages), our prisons are a disgrace to humanity! In spite of the urgent need to reduce the prison population drastically. by cutting all sentences by half. and releasing most of the inmates to do something constructive. (such as Community Service, etc.) nothing has been done. There are only a handful of really dangerous criminals, who can be helped via constructive kindness and medical attention. back to eventual release. (Let us remember that many of the biggest sins aren't punishable by law). The refusal of the Government to do anything about our prisons may yet have to be its downfall.
