Urbanus asks about the crossword. It is the first thing

I do. The two or three biblical references send me to my Bible or Missal. It is not too difficult, but postage is too expensive.

Next I turn to the correspondence and use the "Scripture Notes" for Sunday reading preparation.

If more people read the Catholic Herald there would be less harping back to the 'recent past and more intelligent understanding and involvement in our parishes.

A Herald reader is frequently regarded as a near heretic and certainly not in the "Right Set" either way. Surely it is time this cosy, closed-mind attitude ceased?
