From the afternoon of last Sunday until to-morrow (Saturday) the Holy Father is in retreat. No audiences have been granted during the week.

A colleedon took place Iasi Sunday in all parish churches of Italy for relief of Italians abroad, as ordered by the Sacred Congregation of the Consistory following Instructions from Pope Pius XI, confirmed by the present Pope.

The Seperlor-General of the Cottolengo Order is very ill, following a stroke. Cardinal Fossati of Turin has visited him, and the Pope has sent his Apostolic Blessing.

According to Cairo radio, eightythree Catholic priests have been arrested in Dalmatia for encouraging popular resistance against the German invaders.

According to the tritest, presumably incomplete, list containing the names of imprisoned Dutch priests, 16 Catholic priests are at the present time either in prison or in a concentration camp.

Changanaeherry diocese, India, has the credit of having the only lawyer among the ranks of its clergy. The Rev, Mathew Vakacherry, after finishing his law course, made his theological course at the Papal Seminary, Kandy, where he was ordained recently.
