On December 9, the anniversary of the birth of Emile Waldteufel, whose waltzes rank in popularity with those of Johann Strauss, a programme of his music will be given by the B.B.C. Theatre Orchestra under Stanford Robinson and it will include an account of Waldteufel's life written by Wilfrid Rooke Ley and spoken by Henri Waldteufel, the composer's eon.
