NEW MINISTER STARTS WELL Dr. Ryan has wasted no time

since his appointment as Minister for Health, and has been prompt in appointing a most distinguished medical committee to investigate and advise on the serious spread of gastro-cnteritis among infants. The infant mortality due to this disease has of recent years reached alarming proportions. The committee includes the Master of the Rotunda anti Dr. MacSwiney, the fever specialist of Cork St. Hospital.

The distinction of the personnel and the obvious impartiality shown in its selection augurs well for the future of the nation's health. and One hopes this is only the first of a number of much-needed and equally wise measures.
