MUSHROOM PIE

IF YOU DON'T LIKE FISH A RECIPE FOR FRIDAY By Melora INGREDIENTS: + lb. mushrooms; f pint milk; 2 oz. butter; 4 eggs; 4 tablespoons water; 2 oz. fresh breadcrumbs; teaspoon salt.

Menton: Wash and peel mushrooms and cut them into slices. Put them into a saucepan with the water, salt and half of the butter, and simmer for 10 minutes, keeping the cover on the pan. Empty into a well-buttered baking-dish. Beat the eggs, add the milk, and pour over the mushrooms. Sprinkle in the breadcrumbs, and lay the rest of the butter (cut in small pieces) on the top. Place the tin in a dish of hot water and bake in a moderate oven till the eggs are set.
