The other most prominent people on this Committee are Mgr. John Ryan, of the Catholic University of America, and well-known sociologist, Philip Burnham, editor of Commonweal, Professor E. Chapman, of Fordham, the Catholic University in New York, William M. Callahan, dynamic young managing editor of the Catholic Worker, and the Worker's editor, Dorothy Day, founder of the Catholic Worker movement.
TABLOID JOURNAL The Committee intends to publish a tabloid journal now and then to set forth Catholic teachings against racialism and anti-Semitism. A speakers' bureau has been organised, and radio broadcasts and public meetings will be arranged.
How urgent the formation of such a committee was can be judged by the hearty reception accorded it by Catholics. The committee has been snowed under by inquiries as to how enthusiastic supporters might aid the campaign.
