Stonyhurst welcomes orphans

THREE CHILDREN from an orphanage in Bolivia have visited Stonyhurst College, Lancashire.

They came to meet pupils of St Mary’s Hall, the College prep school, who have raised thousands of pounds to help provide the orphans with education and a secure family life.

The Learning to Care Charity at St Mary’s raised more than £3,000 from the sale of Christmas cards and raffles over the last academic year.

Sr Josephine, director of the Bolivian orphanage in Cochabamba, thanked the pupils. She said: “I am very happy to be at St Mary’s Hall today. Your support has been enormous — you are helping us to help others. We have nothing to give to you, however. This visit is our thank you to you.”
