Ireland announces the formation of a Catholic Film Society.
The primary object of this society io to teach Catholic doctrine through the medium of the film and to create a public demand for a higher moral and cultural standard in entertainment films, writes the Irish Catholic.
The central controlling headquarters of the society is at Youghal, Cork, Branches are planned for parishes throughout the country. These branches will arrange regular displays of approved films that. will be supplied by headquarters, which will also supply projecti in equipment.
As progress is made the branches will produce their own films to be processed at headquarters laboratory.
Incidentally, reports the Irish Catholic, no laboratory for the processing of film exists in Ireland at the moment.
