Macmillan thanks Pope Paul m R. MACMILLAN has sent a message

to Pope Paul expressins gratitude for the good wishes Pope Paul conveyed on the signing of the nuclear test ban treaty. Mr. Macmillan said: "The satisfaction expressed by Your Holiness on the occasion of the signing of the treaty for the prohibition of nuclear experiments is an encouragement to me, and I am most grateful to Your Holiness for it. We are confident that the treaty signed at Moscow can be a happy promise for the peace of the world."

President Kennedy. Mr. Khrushchev and the United Nations General Secretary U Thant also expressed their appreciation of the congratulatory message received from Pope Paul.
