Belief in the sincerity of Herr Hitler

FROM EVIDENCE gathered together by the Catholic Herald it is clear that the Catholics of the nation, with only solitary intellectualist exceptions, are solidly united behind the leadership of the Prime Minister.

Catholics agree with the Premier that any war about the matter in dispute would be fantastic; but they also deeply realise that 'if any nation has made up its mind to dominate the world by fear of its force, it must be resisted."

In union with the remarkable spirit of confidence in both God and the ultimate good sense of man in a supreme crisis shown throughout these days at the Vatican, we refuse to accept the inevitability of war. On the contrary we believe that the peace of the world will be saved and a new era of international harmony established through the lessons we have learned. For such an outcome we must thank. under God, the Prime Minister, M Daladier, President Roosevelt and Signor Mussolini.

We also declare our belief in the sincerity of Herr Hitler when he states that the present Czech question is the last territorial question in Europe to be raised by Nazi Germany.
