CATHOLIC People's Weeks, (Catholic Herald, September 4) cannot really be

described as a form of "summer camp". The weeks are residential and are organised in conference centres and schools. We are a non-profit registered charity and all involved in work on a completely voluntary basis.

The prime purpose of our organisation is educational and spiritual. We aim to provide holidays which are both fun and enriching to our Christian practice and belief. Children and young people are catered for during certain times of the day, thus allowing adults the opportunity to take part in educational activities, knowing that their children are well cared-for. Each year we organise ten or so weeks in different parts of the country.
