Cell which still grows

AS I worked full-time for Fr Bernard Basset SJ and the Cell Movement for some years and am still in close contact with Fr Basset, I am in an ideal position to comment on the letter of Ms Dora Turbin (September 18).
I can state categorically that in no way is it correct to say that the Cell Movement "was stopped by our bishops". In fact, Fr Basset was appointed to other work by his Jesuit superiors.
Ms Turbin is correct in saying that the fire over England is not yet extinct; two movements have grown out of the Sodality Cell Movement. I am in touch with both, The Christian Life Communities and Crux. Both are thriving, loyal to our bishops and the magisterium.
I attended a stimulating Crux conference last week the membership of which included many Cell members of Fr Basset's day.
Witney, Miss Pat Taylor Oxon
