A GUIDE to ways of killing oneself will be published by the Voluntary Euthanasia Society after its annual general meeting made up mostly of pensioners --voted by 115 to 11 to approve the scheme. Dr Colin Brewer, speaking at the meeting, said that the benefits for those in pain would outweigh the risk of an odd teenage death.

'ME Church of England plans to raise £100,000 a year from its parishes to support the British Council of churches fund for race relations. Backing for the fund has come front the General Synod and the Archbishops of Canterbury and York.

BISHOP Nictor Guazzelli represented Cardinal Hume at the celebration "Unity in Love" for balck and white led churches at Si Paul's Cathedral on Saturday. Churches involved included the Calvary Church of Christ and the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.

RADIUS, the religious drama society celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with a three-day festival at Canterbury Cathedral last weekend. The society's president, E. Martin Browne, who produced T. S. Flint's play and is now 79, announce dtha this successor will be l/r Colin ,lames, Bishop of Wakefield. Among last weekend's plays was "Thomas Cranmer of Canterbury" by Charles Williams.

THE ANGLICAN Pacifist Fellowship has given a warning that the preaching of the Christian Church must be hacked up with a total commitment to its truth. At the fellowship's Annual Eucharist, the chairman, the Rev Gordon Wilson, said that "if faith cannot he put to the ultimate test, then we do not believe in the divinity of Christ ... A message such as the Pope gave in Ireland can be nothing more than fine vvords and noble aspirations. Otherwise the last sound will be the rattle or gunfire.

THE: VATICAN City Post Office is marking its fiftieth anniversary with a philatelic exhibition, ti s first. It will include a complete collection of all the postage stamps and cancellations used by the post office since the Vatican began its own postal system in 1929.

Six commemorative postcards will be issued on November 12, with the coats of arms of the six Popes who have reigned since 1929.
