is blessed

Dressed with many flags and emblems, the entire Portuguese American fishing fleet of Gloucester, Mass., assembled at the stage pier there last week for the annual blessing.

Mgr. Stephen De Moura asked the blessing of Our Lady on the little ships.

Following High Mass. a procession took place in which the Statue of Our Lady of Good Voyage and the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, each mounted in a traditional Gloucester dory bedecked with flowers, formed the centre parts

M. Schuman honoured

M. Robert Schuman, former French premier and author of the Schuman plan or the European coal and iron communities. and a leading Catholic layman, has been granted art honorary degree by Harvard University. Fr. J. C. Murras, §.J.. wellknown American theologian, was similarly honoured.
