Papal Nuncio wants to learn Gaelic

The new Papa! Nuncio to Ireland, Archbishop Levame, already an adept in French, Italian, Spanish and English, wants to learn Gaelic. "I won't be able to speak it right away," be says, "but I want to 4e1 as near as possible to the dear Irish people." His Grace has held a number of important posts in Europe and South America. Founder of the Apostolic Missions in Guatemala, Uruguay. Sari Salvador and Honduras, he has also worked in Argentina, Paris, Vienna, Prague and Colombia. In his last appointment, as Apostolic Delegate in Cairo, he won a reputation as one of the most acute observers of political life.

Archbishop Levame plans to leave Cairo for Rome about the middle uf July.
