A GROUP of parents were due to meet in London yesterday to express anger over the way that primary school children are being exposed to sexually explicit material in schools.
The Safe at School campaign, established by the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children, organised the meeting to protest at videos, such as “Living and Growing”, which show graphic sexual images as part of sex education classes.
Afterwards the group will present a 47,000-strong petition to Education Secretary Michael Gove calling on him to ban explicit videos from British primary schools.
Among the speakers at the meeting, called “Sex education as sexual sabotage” and organised alongside the Working Party on the Sexualisation of Children under the Lords and Commons Family and Child Protection Group, are Lynette Burrows, a,uthor of Fight for the Family and Dr Judith Reisman, an expert on Alfred Kinsey and the origins of sex education programmes. Antonia Tully, co-ordinator of the Safe at Schools Campaign, said: “The government need to deal with the problem of materials being introduced into schools by local councils. This is what we’re hearing from parents all over the country. We’re saying wake up, this type of pornographic material is being used, and parents are unhappy.”
