" The Upper Room"

The Archbishop of Westminster was present at the Cathedral Hall when the Westminster Catholic Social and Sports Club Dramatic Society presented Mgr. Benson's Passion Play, " The Upper Room." In thanking the organisers and members of the cast for a " sincere and beautiful representation of Our Lord's Passion," his Grace said: " Nothing has moved me so much since I last saw the Passion Play at Oberammergau in 1910. We owe a great debt to the organisers for their work in presenting this play. Particularly ought we to thank the artists for the beautiful rendering of their parts."

These words of praise from the Archbishop were well deserved. The members of the cast gave their interpretations with the sincerity and feeling so necessary in a production of this type.

The play was produced by the Rev, A. Blount, who made several journeys each week from Aldershot, where he is a chaplain to H.M. Forces. The dresses were by Miss K. McKay and the scenic effects and lighting by Messrs. Roper and Joseph.
