Nottingham Plans Hostel for Girls

it was announced at the annual meeting of the Nottingham City Section of the Catholic Women's League in the Cathedral Hall, Nottingham. last week, that it is hoped to open a hostel for Catholic girls in Nottingham as soon as possible.

Dealing with the subject of girls in industry at this meeting, Mgr Ellis, Bishop of Nottingham, declared " It is a hateful, horrible thing that young people should be taken from the home circle in the most impressionable years of their lives and be directed to work in other towns and districts."

The proposed hostel would, the Bishop hoped, be a worthy successor to the C.W.L. Canteen which would be closed down this year after more than six years of continual existence.
