Breakfast for Troops

In order that soldiers who wished to make their Easter duty on Sunday last should not lose their breakfast as a result, the rector of the Passionist community at Herne Bay, Fr. Malec by Gavin, C.P., and the organising committee of the recently formed Soldiers Club, arranged that a free meal should be provided for them at the canteen attached to the club.

Over sixty soldiers and members of the A.T.S. took advantage of this facility.

The club is situated at the holiday home of the Convent of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, and has proved a boon to hundreds of soldiers during the bitter winter which has been experienced.
