THE Inner London LIFE Pregnancy Care Service has organised a sponsored walk for Sunday, July 8, in aid of the anti-abortion organisation's central London office costs. Bishop Christopher Budd of Plymouth will make history on Thursday when he confirms 36 people from St Catherine's parish in Wimborne, Dorset, at nearby Wimborne Minster. It will be the first Catholic service there for 500 years.
Archbishop Michael Bowen of Southwark attends a pagaent to celebrate the 150th anniversary of St Elizabeth's School, Richmond, Surrey, on Wednesday morning, and on Friday evening goes to the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Catholic Institute for International Relations in central London. Archbishop Derek Worlock of Liverpool will be there too. The next day (Saturday July 7) he ordains Ian McFarland to the priesthood at St Sylvester's in Liverpool.
Bishop Patrick Kelly of Salford ordains Martin Dowd at St Vincent's, Norden, Rochdale this Sunday afternoon, and David Yatts at St James, Rawtenstall, the following Saturday.
