SIR. An organisation called "Cyrilometodejske Liga Akadernicke " (Academic League of St. Cyril and Methodius) was formed in London recently by a few "Czechoslovak " exiles, lf it were a genuine Catholic organisation, it would deserve praise and support from every Catholic. Unfortunately, the main purpose of this organisation is to perpetuate the discredited idea of "Czechoslovakism " and to propagate it among British Catholics.
Moreover. this "League of St. Cyril and Methodius " was set up with an intention inimical towards the Slovak Catholic university students and post-graduates in exile.
At the Congress of the " Pax Roman.a ' held earlier this year in Mexico City, the Federation of Slovak Catholic Students, suppressed by the Beneg regime-of which the founders of the League had been very ardent supporters--and revived by Slovak Catholic students in exile, Was readmitted to membership in the " Pax Romana," in which it used to play an honourable role before the war.
The simple thought that the Slovaks are being represented as an independent unit, as Slovaks (and not as so-called "Czechoslovaks") in any international organisation. is unbearable to these orphaned children
of 13ene. So they have founded their League. with the set purpose of seeking admission to the " Pax Romana" as " repre,sentanves of the Czechoslovak Catholic students." in Spite of the strong protests lodged with the initiators of this " Czecho(Continued at foot of next column)
