Christian Trade Unions Deplore Anschluss

The committee of the International Confederation of Christian Trade Unions met at Marseilles on April 21 to discuss the new situation in Austria.

The achievement of the Anschluss was regarded as a triumph of brutality over justice and it is sorrowfully admitted that another blow has been struck at the International Christian Trade Union movement.

It was decided at this meeting also that during the study week to be held in Belgium next September there should be a careful examination and discussion of 1. The economic revolution in Germany and the struggle in that country against unemployment.

2. Totalitarian regimes, Communist, Fascist and National-Socialist.

3. The responsibilities of the Christian Trade Unions.

4. A documented account of the actual political situation.
