THE POPE WRITES TO LORD MAYOR

The Pope has written to the Lord Mayor of London, Sir Fredrick Wells, sending his "personal good wishes " for the success of the Lord Mayor's Appeal for Children.

The Lord Mayor initiated the appeal for the suffering children of the world which is under the patronage of the heads of the four main religious communities in the country, the Prime Minister and Mr. Churchill.

The Pope's letter which runs to some 400 words is signed by Mgr. Montini, and is dated April 30.
