U.S. BISHOP CHURCH LIAISON OFFICER

Mgr. Aloisius Muench, Bishop of Fargo, North Dakota, U.S.A., who has been named by the War Department in Washington to serve as liaison between the Catholic Church authorities and the United States Military Government in Germany, is expected to take part in the annual meeting of the German Hierarchy at Fulda this August.

The German Hierarchy has heartily welcomed Bishop Mucnch's coming. The German Bishops regard his choice as an ideal one for a very important assignment..

It is not yet known whether Bishop Muench will make his headquarters in Frankfurt or Berlin, but it is expected that he will remain in Germany a considerable length of time, since a great mnny issues vital to the Church have arisen under the occupation that will require considerable attention.
