Bridge crossing for Life

PRO-life champion Ann Widdecombe, MP will on Sunday lead a sponsored walk across the ten bridges that cross the River Thames in central London. Starting at noon at Tower Bridge. Ms Widdecombe, whose attempts to reform the 1967 Abortion Act were thwarted by filibustering in the House of Commons last year, will be weaving her way via London, Southwark, Black friars, Waterloo, Westminster, Lambeth, Vauxhall, Chelsea and Albert Bridges, before making her final crossing at Battersea.

Part of a national series of walks to raise funds for Life (Catholic Herald, July 14), the London walk will include many of the anti-abortion organisation's supporters. Information and sponsorship forms are available from the London Life Office on 01 823 8774.
