Salesian College boys TM) pupils from the Salesian College, Farnborough. Barry , Coles, aged 14, and Terence Barham, aged 15, have been awarded the "Master Bowmen" badges (junior) by the Grand National Archery Society, for their exceptionally high performance last year.
They ale the youngest Master Bowmen in the kountry. Only two other boys have ever qualifiedand they were both 17 years old.
Barry Coles. whose home is in Farnborough. won the under-14 national championship in 1953. with an open record score of 513 for the St. Nicholas round. This year he has won medals at the Hampshire county championships. the Open meeting at Caversham Park. Reading, the Berkshire meeting, the Open meeting at Slough. and the Open meeting at Guildford.
Terence Barham. who lives in Fareham. has won medals at Caversham Park, the Berkshire meeting. Slough and Guildford. and was runner-up in the national chamnionships (under 18) in London last September when he scored 687, two points behind the winner.
