THE Berlin Senate has appro.'. priated $85,000 to build a Catholic information centre and a seminar The Senate is western Berlin's executive body.
The information centre, which is to be in the Steglitz section of Berlin. is planned to include a centre for visitors interested in the religious problems of the divided city and diocese of Berlin. The seminar building, to be located in the Berlin-Kladow section will have weekend accommodations. Both are planned to be completed by mid-1963.
The Evangelical (Lutheran)
Church received $650,000 for assembly houses and overnight lodgings in the Charlottenburg section and for a centre for vocational students in Berlin-Kladow.
The Senate gave the money as part of a promised $1,475,000 grant included in a programme to counter the effects of the Berlin Wall which was put up in August, 1961.
