A soldier serving with the British Army in Holland decided, after careful consideration, to become a Catholic. He was received into the Church by Fr. C. V. Murphy, senior chaplain. The ceremony. consisting of Baptism, Confession and First Communion, took place in a Dutch field in the front line and the convert heard his first Mass on the battlefield, said by the chaplain on a portable altar attached to his car.
