Caledonians

THE CALEDONIAN Catholic Association is holding a Mass for deceased members of St AnseIm and St Cecilia's church. Kingsway, London on November 30 at 7.39pm, to he followed by a social in the hall.

Old Sarum

THE Association for English Worship held a liturgical `workshop' at St Etheldreda's, Ely Place, London, last Friday. Under the direction of Dr Mary Berry of Cambridge, 40 people practised the Sarum settings for the feast of St Edmund, prior to singing at a solemn Latin Mass which incorporated some of the usages from the Sarum rite.

Christian Unity

GROUP Captain Leonard Cheshire and journalist Pat Seed were the main speakers at the Annual General Meeting of the Order of Christian Unity which took place at Bible House, London, on November 14. The theme of the meeting was "Our Faith in the Healing Christ". The President, Lady Lothian, opened the meeting. which was presided over by the Chairman. Mr Hartley Booth.

Licence granted

MR PATRICK Jenkin, Secretary of State fOr Industry, recently granted a general licence which will allow charities to delivery Christmas cards. This will include the services of receiving, collecting and delivering the cards,

Telling sermon

AFTER hearing a sermon in which the priest emphasised that marriage was until death, Mrs Mary Johnson, a divorcee for more than a year, had a change of conscience. The result is that she has just had her decree nisi rescinded in court. instead she is to be given a decree of judicial separation from her husband.

Care of newborn

PROFESSOR Robert Zachary will speak at a symposium entitled "Care of the Neonate ( handicapped newborn child!". The symposium, which is to take place at Greygarth

Iklanchester, on November 29, will also he addressed by James Lister, Professor of Paediatric Surgery, Liverpool and Mr Michael Bell, Chairman of the Association of Lawyer& in Defence of the Unborn.

Charity run

TWO BOYS from St Cuthbert's House, Ampleforth College, York, are to run from York to the school to raise money for the Save the Children Fund. The distance to be covered is some 22 miles and the run is to take place tomorrow, November 28.
